Florida Campus Compact
Campus Democracy Project

A Non-Partisan Civic Engagement Initiative

In alignment with our civic mission, Florida Campus Compact has developed the Campus Democracy Project to promote civil discourse that leads to thoughtful and informed community engagement. This requires students to take the responsibility to educate themselves and participate in our democracy, while also earning the right to be heard and respected by elected officials and candidates. We encourage students to embrace these rights and responsibilities as part of their collegiate experience.

"Democracy has to be reborn in every generation and education is its midwife." – John Dewey

Disclaimer: Florida Campus Compact's 2014 Campus Democracy Project is a non-partisan initiative that seeks to promote civil and issue based dialogue, while inspiring leadership and civic responsibility for conscientious citizenship in a participatory democracy, through increased civic education and participation at Florida's institutions of higher education. This initiative does not endorse, promote or support any candidate, issue, platform or political party. Any opinions expressed belong to the participants themselves and do not necessarily reflect Florida Campus Compact or its member campuses.

The links below are a sampling of resources from diverse groups involved in civic education and civil dialogue issues. They are not intended to be a complete list and we encourage you to explore other organizations, initiatives and resources.

The Florida Division of Elections has many resources specific to our state and your county, including early voting locations, absentee ballots, candidates and races, constitutional amendments and referendums, election dates, FAQ and a voter assistance hotline.
