Florida Campus Compact
Campus Democracy Project
A Non-Partisan Civic Engagement Initiative
As part of our civic engagement mission, Florida Campus Compact is supporting an initiative in higher education to promote civic education and student
involvement in their government. A part of learning to become engaged citizens requires students to take the responsibility to educate themselves and
participate in our democracy, while also earning the right to be heard and respected by elected officials and candidates. As we educate students for
active citizenship and civil discourse, we encourage them to embrace these rights and responsibilities.
Florida Campus Compact's 2014 Campus Democracy Project is a non-partisan initiative that seeks to promote civil and issue based dialogue, while
inspiring leadership and civic responsibility for conscientious citizenship in a participatory democracy, though increased civic education and participation
at Florida's institutions of higher education. This initiative does not endorse, promote or support any candidate, issue, platform or political party.
"Democracy has to be reborn in every generation and education is its midwife." – John Dewey
